The Center for A Course in Miracles conducts weekly, monthly, and quarterly classes at our Center, located at 1151 Harbor Bay Pkwy, Suite 105, Alameda, CA.
Please feel comfortable joining any of our classes at any point in time as the Course's themes are reflected in all thirty-one chapters. Our classes include study, friendly discussion, and questions and answers.
Registration is not required for any of our classes.
Please contact us with any questions you may have.
Our weekly 90-minute study and discussion groups are held Tuesdays from 11am-12:30pm, and Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm. The four weeks following each monthly class are a continuation of Dr. Wapnick's teachings on each successive chapter of A Course in Miracles. This format is more informal as we listen to the audio version of Dr. Wapnick's "Classes on the Text of A Course in Miracles," and invite questions and discussion.
On the first Saturday of each month we present Dr. Kenneth Wapnick's DVD Series "Classes on the Text of A Course in Miracles," one chapter per month. (The print version, "Journey Through the Text," is an expanded version of the DVD series.) These presentations are followed by a question and answer period facilitated by the Center's staff.
A Course in Miracles, unlike most linearly structured texts, is symphonically presented, with its themes and principles woven into the teachings throughout, much the same as leitmotivs are woven into the fabric of a musical composition. The Course is thus seen as the perfect integration of form and content, a framework within which the prominent principles and themes in each chapter are presented in succeeding classes.
The overall purpose of these classes is to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of A Course in Miracles, in terms of its magnitude both as a thought system and as a work of art. Such appreciation, it is hoped, will facilitate students' study of the Course, enabling them to learn and practice its teachings in a gently consistent manner as they strive to integrate them into their daily lives. ~ Kenneth Wapnick

Chapter 25 - The Justice of God: "Salvation is rebirth of the idea no one can lose for anyone to gain. And everyone must gain, if anyone would be a gainer. ... Be certain any answer to a problem the Holy Spirit solves will always be one in which no one loses. ... What is God's belongs to everyone, and is his due" (T-25.VII.12:1-2, T-25.IX.3:1, T-25.IX.10:10).
November 4th, 2017, 2-4:30pm
Chapter 26 - The Transition: "Beware of the temptation to perceive yourself unfairly treated. In this view, you seek to find an innocence that is not Theirs but yours alone, and at the cost of someone else's guilt. Can innocence be purchased by the giving of your guilt to someone else?" (T-26.X.4:1-3).
December 2nd, 2017, 2-4:30pm
Chapter 27 - The Healing of the Dream: "Of one thing you were sure: Of all the many causes you perceived as bringing pain and suffering to you, your guilt was not among them. Nor did you in any way request them for yourself. This is how all illusions came about. The one who makes them does not see himself as making them, and their reality does not depend on him" (T-27.VII.7:4-8).
Each quarter we present Dr. Wapnick's DVD workshop, "The Unconscious Mind." This one-day workshop will present the Course's theology and metaphysical framework, focusing on the nature of the split mind as the dreamer of the dream, the dream being comprised of both the ego thought system and the world that is its effect. Thus the world "is the outside picture of an inward condition," reflecting our mind's choice to identify with either the ego or the Holy Spirit. Seen through Christ's vision, the world becomes a classroom in which we learn to see sameness instead of differences, the healed perception that is the meaning of joining. In this way, the decision-making mind is restored to our awareness so that we can choose again and awaken from the dream.
